The terms you agree to when you sell a device to CFP Electronics.
The price this site gives you is based on what you tell us about the device. It is what we will pay if the device matches that description.
If it does not (a cracked screen you did not mention, a different storage size, a battery that will not hold charge), we will tell you the revised price before any money changes hands. You are free to walk away at that point and owe us nothing.
We can also decline to buy a device for any lawful reason, and we will tell you why.
We can only buy from adults. You must be at least 18 years old.
Bring a government issued photo ID, such as a driver license or a passport. We record the type, the issuer and the number, and in some places we are required to photograph it or to photograph you. We cannot buy from you without it, even if we have already agreed a price by text.
Some places require more than one piece of identification, and some require a thumbprint as well. If that applies where we trade we will tell you when we agree a time, so that you know what to bring.
By selling to us you confirm all of the following. You are 18 or over. The device is yours, or you have the legal authority to sell it for the person who owns it. It is not on finance, a lease, or a payment plan, and nothing is owed on it. It has not been reported lost or stolen. Any activation lock, account lock or company lock has been removed. And everything you have told us about it is true.
If any of that turns out not to be the case, the sale can be undone and we can ask for our money back.
Before we pay, we check the device's IMEI or MEID against the industry database that carriers report lost and stolen phones to. We also check for locks.
There are several different problems and they are not the same thing. A phone reported lost or stolen shows as blacklisted, sometimes called a bad ESN. A phone still being paid off on a carrier plan can be blacklisted too, for non payment. An iCloud or Find My lock has to be turned off by the person whose account it is, and we cannot do it for you. A company or school lock, sometimes called MDM, survives a factory reset and only the organisation that set it up can remove it. A carrier SIM lock is different again: it is not a legal problem, it just lowers what we can pay.
We buy some of them anyway, at a much lower price than a clean phone, and we will tell you that number before you decide. You are free to say no.
If a device comes back as reported lost or stolen, we may be required to hold it and report it rather than hand it back to you. Please do not turn up with a phone you are not certain about.
We are a secondhand dealer. We are required to report the purchases we make, including your name, your ID details and the device's serial number and IMEI, to a database that law enforcement can search. That report usually goes in within one business day of us buying the device.
Please sign out of your accounts and factory reset the device before you meet us. Sign out of iCloud or your Google account first, or the reset will not clear the lock.
Once we take possession we treat any remaining data as ours to erase, and we erase it. We cannot recover anything you have not backed up, and we are not responsible for data you left on a device you sold. A reset is not reversible and neither is our wipe.
Take your SIM card and any memory card out before you hand the device over. We do not keep them and we cannot promise to get one back to you once the device has gone.
Cases, chargers and cables are yours unless we have specifically agreed to buy them.
If we decide not to buy your device, you keep it, we do not charge you anything, and that is the end of it.
The one exception is the one above: a device that comes back as reported lost or stolen may have to be held and reported instead of returned.
We pay at the meetup, once we have inspected the device and you have accepted the final price. Payment method is agreed with you beforehand.
Ownership passes to us when you are paid. The sale is final at that point.
We meet in public places during the hours shown on this site. If you need to change or cancel, tell us. There is no charge for doing so.
These terms cover devices we buy in person. We do not buy by post unless we have agreed that with you separately and in writing.
When you give us your phone number and ask for a quote, you agree that we can text and call you about it, including with automated messages. That is how we send your offer and arrange to meet you.
Reply STOP to any text to stop them, or HELP for help. Message and data rates from your carrier may apply. We do not need you to agree to texts in order to buy your device, so if you would rather we emailed, say so.
We are responsible for paying you what we agreed and for handling your device carefully once it is ours. We are not responsible for data you left on the device, for a lock we told you about that you could not remove, or for anything that happens because what you told us about the device was not accurate.
Nothing here takes away a right you have under consumer protection law in your state.
Talk to us first. Most problems are a misunderstanding about condition and we would rather sort it out than argue about it. You can reach CFP Electronics at cfpbuyback@gmail.com or 4052023953.
These terms are governed by the law of the state this business trades in.
We may update these terms. The version that applies to your sale is the one published when you requested your quote.

These terms are a template describing how this business operates. They are not legal advice and do not replace advice from an attorney about the secondhand dealer rules where you trade. Have one read them before you rely on them.
